The award was presented in recognition of my work Essence of Sustenance, which explores the deep connection between human existence and the natural world.
I am honoured to share that I was awarded the 2024 Banks Mill Arts Enterprise Award, sponsored by the University of Derby, following the MA Arts (Fine Art & Photography) Degree Show in the United Kingdom.
The award was presented in recognition of my work Essence of Sustenance, which explores the deep connection between human existence and the natural world, and how survival, culture, and environment are closely intertwined. Showing this body of work at the Artcore Gallery in Derby was an important moment in my practice, and I am grateful that it resonated so strongly.
Winning this award comes with the opportunity to further develop my practice through a solo exhibition at Banks Mill Studios, access to studio space, business and professional mentoring, and inclusion in a creative community that supports both artistic and entrepreneurial growth.
This recognition marks an important milestone in my journey as an artist. I remain deeply committed to creating work that reflects identity, memory, and the fragile relationship between humanity and nature, and I look forward to exploring new directions as this journey continues.
